St. Paul Outside the Walls
St. Paul Outside the Walls (San Paolo fuori le Mura) is one of the four major papal basilicas of Rome and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built over the burial site of St. Paul, the basilica was originally commissioned by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century and later reconstructed after a devastating fire in 1823. The basilica is renowned for its majestic colonnaded courtyard, its golden mosaics depicting Christ, and the medallions of all the popes from St. Peter to the present day. It remains a significant pilgrimage site and a symbol of the Christian faith.
