Markets of Trajan
The Markets of Trajan, located in Rome, are a complex of ancient Roman buildings. Constructed between 100 and 110 AD by Emperor Trajan, they are considered one of the world's earliest shopping malls. The structure hosted a variety of shops and offices, serving as a vibrant center of commerce in the heart of ancient Rome. The Markets are adjacent to the famous Trajan's Forum, the last and the most magnificent of the Imperial forums.
