Spanish Steps
In the center of Piazza di Spagna, you can admire the famous Barcaccia, a fountain created by Pietro Bernini with the help of his son Gian Lorenzo. It seems that the sculptor saw an abandoned boat that gave him the idea of carving a semi-broken boat in stone that emerges from street level and shoots water from four cannon mouths. Another monument that adorns this square is the column of the Immaculate Conception. Piazza di Spagna is one of the main landmarks in the center of Rome. The wide staircase consists of twelve travertine flights, with 135 steps and is decorated with garden terraces. Its scenery serves as the backdrop for shows, fashion shows, and many other events.
